Tied to so many memories and what I've turned to the longest, music has always been a constant in my life. Songwriting specifically has always spoken to me, and learning to play the guitar at 11 years old by watching tutorials on YouTube helped me to foster that ability... and going to lessons at a studio (the same studio I teach at today) really helped me to flourish. By 13, I was busking downtown, playing and singing songs I loved, and getting to connect with others in the process. Even as the sometimes-socially-awkward-pre-teen that I was, I think it really was those moments of connection that I craved most. Today, when I'm able to help hone the obvious natural talent that I witness in other young artists, it brings me joy, and a small sense of peace; because for a moment, it feels as if I am at least scratching the surface of what I'm meant to do.
